Story
Miami Today was founded in 1983 by Michael Lewis, a career journalist who still edits and publishes the paper. The National Newspaper Association has named him the top editorial writer in the nation, and he has received many other national and state writing honors. He also launched the Book of Leaders in 1997 and MiamiTodayNews.com in 2000.
Now in its 43rd year, Miami Today covers community, business and government news in Miami-Dade County. Much of its reporting appears nowhere else. According to the publisher, it is the largest-circulated mainstream print publication in the county.
