BOOMPEX PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy describes how Boompex ("Boompex," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the website located at boompex.com and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you voluntarily submit through the Service, including but not limited to: your name, email address, telephone number, business or organizational details, biographical information, photographs, videos, documents (including any optional background-check status or supporting document you choose to upload), social media links, and any content you submit through a listing form, correction form, suggestion form, or messaging feature.

1.2 Publicly Available Information We Aggregate

For listings concerning government agencies, municipal offices, parks, and other public or civic entities, we may independently collect information from publicly available official sources ("Public Records") for directory and informational purposes. We do not treat this category of information as personal data of a private individual.

1.3 Information Collected Automatically

When you interact with the Service --- including submitting a listing, a suggestion, a correction, or a message --- we automatically record certain technical information, including: your IP address, the date and time of your submission, your browser type and user-agent string, and, where applicable, the specific form or page from which the submission originated. We collect this information for security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and audit purposes, including to help verify the authenticity of submissions and to investigate reports of inaccurate or fraudulent claims (for example, comparing the IP address associated with a correction request against the IP address associated with the original listing submission).

1.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies

Boompex does not use cookies or similar technologies to track users across the Service or third-party sites for advertising or profiling purposes. We use only cookies or equivalent local storage mechanisms that are strictly necessary for the Service to function, such as maintaining your search filter selections or your locally stored list of favorited listings, which may be stored in your browser rather than on our servers. Some pages embed content from third parties, such as Google Street View, YouTube or Vimeo videos, and Mapbox maps. When you load or play that content, the provider may set its own cookies or collect technical information under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to: operate, maintain, and improve the Service; review, curate, and publish listings in accordance with our editorial process; communicate with you regarding your Submission, invitation, or inquiry; detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity, including through the audit-trail practices described in Section 1.3; moderate messages and Submissions for inappropriate content; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Information

3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Information

Boompex does not sell, rent, or trade your email address, telephone number, or other personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes, and has not done so in the twelve months preceding the effective date of this Policy.

3.2 Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, strictly as necessary for them to provide those services. These providers currently include:

• Supabase / Lovable Cloud (database hosting and file storage for listing content, photographs, and videos), physically hosted on AWS infrastructure in the European Union (AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt, Germany);
• Google Workspace (email hosting for our own staff communications);
• Resend, via our sending subdomain notify.boompex.com (automated transactional email delivery, such as notifications and invitation links);
• Mapbox (map display and address-to-coordinate geolocation for business listings with a physical address);
• Lovable AI Gateway, routing to Google Gemini 2.5 Flash (used internally by Boompex staff only, to generate a machine-translated Russian-language view of submission text for review purposes; this is a staff-facing administrative tool and is not used to process or alter any public-facing content).

We may add or change service providers from time to time; this Policy will be updated to reflect material changes in the categories of providers we use.

3.3 Public Display of Information

Certain information you submit is, by the nature of the Service, displayed publicly, including your business or personal name, category, city, self-declared attributes, submitted photographs and videos, and any social media links you choose to provide. Your direct email address is never displayed publicly; messages are relayed through the Service without disclosing your address to the sender. Your telephone number, if provided, is hidden by default and displayed only after a visitor affirmatively clicks to reveal it. As an exception, listings for government agencies and other public bodies display their published office telephone numbers openly, because that contact information is already public record.

3.4 Legal Disclosures

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Boompex, our users, or the public.

4. Your Choices and Rights

4.1 Access, Correction, and Deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information held by Boompex at any time by contacting hello@boompex.com or by using the "Submit Information" form referencing your own listing. We will respond to such requests within a reasonable time, subject to our legitimate need to retain certain records (for example, audit-trail data relevant to an unresolved dispute).

4.2 Individuals Featured Without Direct Submission

If you are an individual whose profile was created based on a third-party suggestion or by Boompex staff, and you did not personally submit or authorize the content, you may request review, correction, or removal of that profile at any time using the same contact methods described above, as further explained in our Terms of Service.

4.3 Contact Preferences (People Profiles)

Individuals with a published profile who provide an email address may choose, at the time of submission, whether to keep that address entirely private, make it available for messages with a note requesting relevance, or make it fully available for messages of any kind. This preference may be changed at any time by contacting hello@boompex.com.

4.4 California and Other State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. As stated in Section 3.1, Boompex does not sell personal information. If you are a California resident and wish to exercise any right available to you under the California Consumer Privacy Act or similar state law, please contact us at hello@boompex.com.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Submission of listings, corrections, suggestions, or messages requires the submitting party to be at least 18 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information may contact us at hello@boompex.com.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information and audit-trail data (including IP addresses and submission timestamps) for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including ongoing editorial curation, dispute resolution, and legal compliance, after which it is deleted or anonymized, except where longer retention is required by law.

6.1 Contact Form Messages

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information submitted through the Service, including access controls limiting visibility of sensitive submission metadata (such as IP addresses) to authorized staff only. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Users and Where Information Is Processed

The Service is directed at businesses, individuals, and audiences connected to the United States, and specifically the State of Florida. The database and uploaded media underlying the Service (records, photographs, and videos) are physically hosted on infrastructure located in the European Union --- specifically AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt, Germany --- operated by Boompex's managed backend provider. The public-facing website and its cached or static assets may additionally be served from content-delivery infrastructure located in other countries, including the United States, as part of ordinary internet routing. Boompex's personnel may also be located inside or outside the United States at any given time. Depending on these locations, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the European Union, the United States, or other countries, which may not have the same data protection laws as your home country. If you access the Service from outside the European Union or the United States, you consent to this cross-border transfer and processing.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date and, where practicable, communicated to affected registered contacts by email.
