Story
The Northwest Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross works from its office on Sturdevant Street in Pensacola, open on weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The chapter covers more than 900,000 people living in Bay, Escambia, Holmes, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton and Washington counties, with an additional office on Harrison Avenue in Panama City.
People affected by a house fire or another disaster can reach the Red Cross by phone at any hour. Members of the military, veterans and their families have a dedicated line that also runs around the clock.
The chapter offers classes in CPR, first aid, lifeguarding, swimming and water safety. Residents can volunteer or donate to support those hit by disasters large and small, and organizations can request the Red Cross or a speaker for their events.
