Story

Kimono Shop has been bringing Japanese kimono and yukata to customers around the world since 1994. With more than 30 years in business and over 35,000 customers served, it is one of the longest-running online kimono stores in the US.

The company began in the Buddhist tradition, selling products for people interested in Zen-inspired living. Over time the owners' love for Japanese culture and the craft of kimono and yukata grew, and they decided to focus on these garments.

What sets it apart

  • Direct importer of cotton and silk kimono and yukata robes from Japan
  • One of the first online stores to offer a wide range of sizes: Plus Size, Big & Tall, Short Length and Petite, for men, women and children
  • Fast shipping from the USA
  • A web-based company with no retail storefront; customers are served online, by email, text or voicemail

The robes work as loungewear, bathrobes, cover-ups or fashion, and for ceremonies and special occasions. Hung on a kimono hanger or framed, a kimono can also become wall art.
