Story
Mariners Hospital in Tavernier is a Baptist Health critical access hospital with 25 inpatient beds. It serves the Upper Keys with round-the-clock emergency services and a helipad on site.
Services include surgery, orthopedics, physical therapy and rehabilitation, along with diagnostic imaging such as 3D mammography, CT scans and MRI. The hospital is home to the only hospital-based hyperbaric chamber in the Florida Keys, which uses oxygen therapy for diving injuries and other complex conditions. Outpatient cancer infusion therapy is also available.
In 2012 the American Nurses Credentialing Center granted Mariners its Pathway to Excellence designation. It was the first hospital in Florida to receive that designation.
The campus also includes the Tassell Medical Arts Building, where patients find specialty physicians and a Wellness Center of 7,000 square feet.
