AdventHealth Tampa Wound Healing Institute

The Wound Care Center at AdventHealth Tampa is a hospital department located in Suite 430 at 3000 Medical Park Drive in Tampa. It helps patients whose injuries are not healing on their own, covering acute and chronic wounds as well as wounds linked to diabetes.

Its team includes board-certified physicians and nurses along with hyperbaric technologists. Before choosing a treatment, the team reviews the complete health history of each patient, since conditions like diabetes or arthritis can complicate healing. Cases range from diabetic foot ulcers all the way to necrotizing fasciitis.

Available treatments include compression therapy, debridement, edema management, topical wound therapy, nutritional and antibiotic management, lab and imaging evaluation, pressure-relief aids such as special beds, cushions and footwear, and counseling and education for patients and caregivers. The center also provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), in which patients breathe 100% oxygen under raised atmospheric pressure to help fight infection and speed recovery.
