Abe Brown Ministries, Inc.

Abe Brown Ministries' founder, Rev. Abe Brown, spent 38 years as a teacher and coach in Hillsborough County public schools and won a Florida state football title with Blake High School in 1969. In 1976 he learned that a player he once coached faced a murder charge and went to see him in prison; the following year, 1977, he launched the ministry. Brown passed away in 2010.

The ministry's inspHire reentry program provides returning citizens with transitional housing, job and career development, life-skills training and accountability, and more than 7,000 participants have been served through the reentry program since 2014. Its food pantry offers food support twice a month to individuals and families and serves over 3,000 households each year. Through prison crusades, the ministry brings faith, hope and encouragement to people in correctional institutions across Florida.

Volunteers and donors support the work, and businesses and individuals can take part in inspHire as business partners or life coaches.
