HCA Florida South Shore Hospital

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is a 138-bed community hospital in Sun City Center. Since 1982 it has provided care to residents of Hillsborough and Manatee counties.

Its specialties include bariatric and general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology and round-the-clock emergency care. The orthopedic center treats many bone and joint problems, among them arthritis, back pain and injuries. The hospital also provides colorectal health services and stroke care.

The Joint Commission certifies it as a Primary Stroke Center. The American College of Radiology accredits its CT, nuclear medicine, mammography, MRI and ultrasound services. In 2024, Healthgrades named it one of America's 50 Best Hospitals for Surgical Care.
