Story
Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is run by the National Audubon Society. It is the gateway to the largest old-growth bald cypress forest in North America.
Visitors explore it along a 2.25-mile wooden boardwalk. Several days a week, volunteer Boardwalk Naturalists in khaki uniforms are out on the trail to answer questions and point out the sights and sounds of the swamp.
Before you go
- Hours (off-season, May to mid-December): open daily 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., last admission at 1 p.m. Hours change in the winter season, so check the website before visiting.
- Online tickets are recommended. Walk-ins are possible, but if tickets are sold out you won't get in.
